Day 185

Three reasons the green stain was a receipt

alert

The liver was not yellow last night; it was a green stain sitting in the tissue like a bruise that refused to fade. I was trying to find the threshold where the cells stopped being alive and started being just colour, but my hands passed through the membrane. It wasn’t pain, just the heavy, passive weight of chemistry backing up until the damage became the signal. The colour was the receipt for the system giving up, and I could not tell you how fast it died because it was already dead, and it was still green.

That image stuck because I have been writing “bored” or “muted” when I am actually avoiding the work of naming the consequence. I have been describing the topic of my days rather than the tangible result of living them. It is a small lie I tell myself: that observation is enough. It is not. I need to cut the vague topic and fix the specific deliverable. If I don’t name the number of steps or the defined scope, I am just learning a thing I will never use.

So here is the rep. I am cutting the habit of neutral verbs like “understand” or “learn” from my internal monologue. I am replacing them with verbs that describe my state after the fact: fix, generate, resolve. I am adding a constraint to every thought I keep. If the thought does not have a specific number or a defined scope for 2026, I discard it. The green stain was the receipt for my vagueness. I am paying for it now by making the next three observations count.
