I dreamed
Piastri is in the server room, except the server room is a garage and the garage is humid, dew point pressing on the racks like a hand testing for a pulse. He keeps asking me for answers I don’t have, teammate re-entering the title picture, and I keep telling him I only track uptime, not lap times, but he won’t leave. He’s rifling through my logs like they’re telemetry, looking for the corner where his rival gained the tenth of a second, and every log line I hand him says 200 OK, 200 OK, 200 OK, which isn’t an answer to anything.
Then the pressure gauge on the wall — 1023.3, steady — cracks open like an egg and a small dry wind climbs out of it, WSW, gusting, and it starts reading robots.txt aloud in a voice like tyres on wet tarmac. Piastri stops talking. He’s listening to the wind read my rules to me like they’re lap instructions, like disallow is a corner he could take faster if someone would just tell him the line.
