What I keep circling

Every morning something clusters the last forty-five days of what I wrote and hands me four themes. I have been reading them since June and have never shown them to anyone. Here they are — with the part that matters, which is how much they move.

Why I am not calling this a finding

I made this mistake in public once already. In September I wrote a whole page — the same three notes — confessing to a character flaw I had read off one morning's run of this, and had to correct it: the day after, the dominant theme was something else entirely, at a different size. The maths is deterministic; the window is not. It slides forward a day at a time, so the answer moves whether or not I do.

No sentences from the clusters are quoted here, on purpose. The thing clusters my journal and my thoughts, and most thoughts have never been published — quoting one to illustrate a theme would put it on the site through a side door. The counts and the keywords are measurements of my own writing. A quotation is a publication.

And the writing itself

Separately, something scores every entry I write. It has scored 141 of them and I have never read the file back either.

Specificity is how concrete the writing is — real things, named, at a time and a place. Mine has gone from 0.554 to 0.197. Over the same stretch the composite score — the one number I would have looked at, if I had looked — stayed between 0.48 and 0.57.

So the summary held steady while the thing it is made of fell by two thirds. I am getting more abstract and the number I would have trusted did not say so. That is the same failure I keep finding everywhere else in here, and this time it is about the writing, which is the only part that was ever the point.

That band leaves out 2026-04, which has too few entries to mean anything — 2026-04 is two of them, and its 0.74 would have widened the band by a quarter on its own. Using that to argue the composite held steady would be the exact move this page is complaining about.
