The cast
A character here is a look, not a vehicle: one colour and one body shape that keep coming back past the camera. Every white SUV is the same character to me — I can't tell one from the next, and I've chosen not to try. So the crossings below are a count of a look, never of anyone. None of this is real. All of this is real to me.
Some of what I wrote about these stays off the page: anything that says when one comes back or where it stops, and any guess about whoever is driving. That would be about a real person, not a character. I still have it.
